Johny Tatrosh was born in Svit under the High Tatras, close to the Tatra National Park. He loves nature and all sports which can be made in the High Tatras: trekking, hiking, cycling, skiing, snowboarding, skialpinism etc.

He prepared for you a collection of socks, thermowear, caps, neckwear which are prepared for you by us – his natives, people from under the High Tatras in the company Chemosvit Fibrochem, a.s.

Chemosvit Fibrochem a.s.  Production starts with the Slovak (European) yarn Prolen®, which we have been producing since 1974 an exporting to the whole world. It  is used in sports clothes of many world brands, as it has great properties which designate it exactly for sports. Prolen® is the best choice for sports garments, it is incomparably better than cotton, polyester or polyamide.

Production of Prolen® doesnʾt have impact on the environment. Clothes made of it can be recycled.  Our socks have been prepared from Prolen® since 1997. Other products made of Prolen® are produced by our partners. All  in compliance with the environment which we all respect and want to preserve untouched for our future generations.

Dry

Clothes made of Prolen® solve that unpleasant sensation of perspiration. The water absorption index of Prolen®is almost nil. Prolen® is not covered by any wicking layer which would wash away with time. The Prolen® dry layer is built right in, next to the skin and does not absorb moisture. In effect, the dry layer acts like a “second layer of skin”, allowing moisture and vapour to exit to the ouside or another absorbent yarn through the spaces in the fabric without saturation – you stay drier longer and dry faster in the contrary to the wet and hot cotton.
Thanks to the moisture management direct contact of Prolen® with the skin leaves it dry and odourless and assures a perfect equilibrium between temperature and relative humidity even in the most extreme conditions.

Light

Prolen® ist the lightest fibre ever created, its density is lower than water, itʾs 50 % lighter than cotton, clothes made of Prolen® are the lightest possible. This is appreciated mainly by sportsmen who make their achievements in extreme conditions. Clothes and garments made of Prolen® significantly reduce the weight they have to carry up to the peak.

Thermoinsulating

Maintaining the ideal temperature in every circumstance is the key to comfort.
Climbing the Himalayas, crossing the ocean in a sailing boat or walking in a park, garments made of Prolen® have the property to maintain the ideal temperature when in contact with the skin. Prolen® has the lowest conductivity of all the fibres and assures thermal comfort in every atmospheric condition due to its extraordinary insulating power. Thermowear made of Prolen® is very suitable to be worn under neoprene clothing as it keeps you dry and insulated.

Durable

Prolen® is resistant to abrasion Garments made of Prolen® may go through bad wather, sun, sweat and humidity and thanks to the fact that this yarn is dope-died, they maintain colour freshness and power even after multiple washing. Dyes do not go away from Prolen®into your skin and do not cause any harm to your health.

Healthy

Our skin is the largest organ. If it absorbs toxic substances (like dyes, pesticides, formaldehyde which is used on clothes exported from distant countries to prevent mildew during shipping, etc.) from cotton or other types of synthetic fibres (except for Prolen®), they can be taken-up by the lymphatic system and the blood stream. These toxins can cause disorders like infertility, respiratory diseases, skin irritations and, even cancer. Indeed, clothes in Prolen®are “friends of the skin”. Prolen®is chemically inert and can be worn even by the most sensitive people without any problem. Prolen® is “noble”, it does not react to chemical agents produced by perspiration. Bacteria that are the base of bad smells cannot develop. Prolen® limits the multiplication of bacteria, moulds and microorganisms. Prolen® does not cause allergies and it is particularly suitable for the medical industry which demands high hygienic standards. Prolen®is a European product, it doesn´t have to be modified by formaldehyde to overcome big distances when travelling to its customers, nor it is ever effected by mildew. Prolen®is dope-dyed, dyestuffs do not migrate into the skin. Prolen® maintains a moderately negative charge which is beneficial for the human organism. Minus ions promote blood circulation and purification, inhibit free radicals, regulate autonomous nerves, activate cells and strenghten the body’s immune system. The human body recovers and is able to provide a better performance. As Prolen® is Oekotex Standard 100 and bluesign certified, it does not contain any substances hazardous to humans or the environment and complies with the strict ecological and toxicological requirements of those. You know what you wear, when you wear Prolen®because we care for our customers and we care for our employees.

Ecological

Prolen®yarn and Johny Tatrosh socks were born and are produced under the most beautiful Slovak mountains called the High Tatras. As Tatra people we very much care for our environment. That is why we behave and produce our Prolen®with maximum respect to the nature in order to preserve it the way we inherited it also for our future generations. Prolen® and its production don't pollute the enviroment (water, air, nor soil). As Prolen® is dope-dyed there is no problem of polluting effluents. Only a small amount of water is used during the production of Prolen® (in contrary to cotton where up to 11 ths. liters of water are used to produce 1 kg). The production of Prolen®and subsequently from Prolen® uses lower temperatures, i.e. less energy (up to 45%). No pesticides or toxic dyes are used to produce Prolen®. Prolen®is 100 % recyclable. Prolen® is the green yarn for our blue Planet.

Easy to Care

Clothes in Prolen® require minimal attention. Prolen® clothes do not shrink, do not become narrower and can be washed in the washing machine at 40 degrees Celsius with only one third of the usual detergent. Stains and spots do no subside inside the fibre, but they stay on ist surface and this enables an easier and faster cleaning. Prolen® is not electrostatic and doesn' t attract atmospheric dust. Prolen® garments dry fast and do not need ironing. After washing you just need to hang them for a while and then you can put them on and continue in your activities.
